Visitor Technology Guide

If you're visiting campus, working on a temporary contract basis with VIU, or collaborating with VIU faculty on a research project, you'll want to know what IT services are available to you and how to access them. Here's where you can find the information you need to get up and running quickly and easily.

The wireless network is available nearly anywhere on campus, and you can log into viu-guest or eduroam. Eduroam is used for students or employees who are visiting from another institution.

For information on wireless availability and for advanced instructions for connecting your device to the wireless, visit: How Do I Connect to viu-guest? or How Do I Connect to eduroam?

If you have a regular relationship to the institution and have affiliate status you may have access to a computer account.  For more information visit: How Do VIU Employee Accounts Work?

It is important that you understand how to use the university technology safely and appropriately. Please read the below Use of Information Technology policy before using campus technology including computers and campus wireless access.
