Using a remote desktop connection employees can access their work computers form off-campus. This is useful for employees that need to use VIU licensed software that is installed on their work computer.

How do I request or access this service?

Submit a request to the IT Helpdesk (ithelp@viu.ca) asking for Remote Access to be setup on your VIU computer. Please include your computer name in the email.

Once your request has been approved a technician will compete the required set-up to allow a remote desktop connection to your computer.

When the office computer setup has been completed you will be notified by the IT Help Desk.

Support for this service is available: M-F 8:00 - 4:30

Service is available: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
